Because we raised $225,000 in less than five months, and we worked successfully with the IDNR and ICF at the state level. We represented the people and the state responded handsomely! We have an outstanding track record!
We charge an administrative fee of 15% to cover overhead costs of preparing a fundraising campaign. Each proposed restoration project must have a budget in place with signed agreements.
Jan Stilson, local author and historian gathered a committee of local residents who have shown interest in preserving art. Karly Spell of Art Casting of Illinois joined and serves as Treasurer; Kim Smeia, historical preservationist, asked to join, and serves now as our Secretary. Melanie Costello, Director of Lorado Taft Field Campus (NIU), is a Director on our Board Other members who have advanced our story throughout the state are Roger Cain, local businessman and volunteer, Chris Martin, former mayor and local financial planner, Mayor Ken Williams, vocal advocate for Oregon development, Terry Schuster, Economic Commissioner of the City of Oregon, Patha Brandon of Black Hawk Tourism, Michal Burnett of the Ogle County Historical Society, Otto Dick of the Depot Museum and Debbie Dickson, local citizen and former Director of the Chamber of Commerce. We have a group of members who are vested in the history and restoration of our community's art. We are proud of our committee!

Yes, We applied for 501c3 status through the IRS and it was granted about 6 weeks later! It is re!retroactive to the beginning of our formal group - September 10, 2018.
